Aftermarket magazine “Freie Werkstatt” publishes Technical Guide on BRM Replacement

As the automotive industry moves toward full electrification, many manufacturers are currently relying on 48V systems with starter-generators – also known as mild hybrids – as a bridging technology.

With 48V starter-generators like the Boost Recuperation Machine (BRM) from SEG Automotive – one of the market leaders in this field – becoming increasingly popular, their relevance for the aftermarket is also growing.

In this context, it essential for workshops to diagnose potential faults in the BRM and replace it in the event of a defect.

For this reason, SEG Automotive has contributed to the ‘Technical Tip’ section in the latest issue of the trade magazine Freie Werkstatt (in German), a leading trade magazine for independent workshops.

This guide provides hands-on insights into identifying potential faults and ensuring a smooth BRM replacement process, answering key questions such as:

  • What is the BRM, and how does it work?
  • How is error diagnosis carried out?
  • What should be considered when handling the BRM?
  • What must be ensured when replacing the BRM?

The full technical guide is now available in Freie Werkstatt (in German).
